Nuddge is a dynamic health tech start-up based in London, dedicated to helping enhance the emotional wellbeing of teens and young adults across Europe.
Today's young population are more isolated, less happy and more emotionally disaffected than any previous generation. This has reached epidemic proportions.
Nuddge has turned social networks upside down and created a fit-for-purpose micro-community composed of intimate social connections. Nuddge offers a chat-based member engagement platform that allows teens and young adults to become members of an exclusive and safe community that offers coaching, health tracking, medication compliance and access to a library of music and video for 'mood-hacking.'
The Nuddge service does not look for feel like other health tech apps. It is fresh and current, offering teens and young adults a place where they feel comfortable and welcome. Nuddge puts great importance on the role of companions, those family members and friends supporting the member. Companions are invited to join Nuddge to help support and track the member and "nuddge" them at just the right time.
Behind the interface is a sophisticated data platform that provides our members personalized insights into their emotional well-being and their associated triggers. The data platform also supports insurers, healthcare providers, yoga studios and therapists who can access Nuddge's members in a meaningful and legitimate way in order to build deeper more meaningful relationships with Nuddge's members as well as improve their own mental health services.
So why is this relevant for Insurers and InsureTech? Why is Nuddge applying for this award? We have 4 reasons:
1. Mental health and related acute and chronic health conditions underpin the vast majority of claims costs for health insurance and long term income protection. A proactive approach to improving mental and emotional wellbeing of policyholders will drastically improve claims performance.
2. As a technology and platform, Nuddge is age and condition agnostic so it can be applied, over time, to any population a health organisation or insurer wants to engage, coach and support in a proactive, digital manner. MSK, chronic pain etc etc.
3. Insurers need to work with their corporate clients to improve productivity, reduce absenteeism, combat presenteeism and ensure a duty of care for their clients employees. Nuddge does this.
4. Nuddge (currently) is focused on a younger demographic than traditionally associated with by insurers. But these are the digitally savvy insurance customer of tomorrow. Building a relationship NOW with this audience gives insurers the credibility and longevity to ride the insuretech and fintech waves that are undoubtedly starting to break.
