Grégoire Rastoul lived in Singapore during his childhood and went back to Europe for his studies. He worked for 10 years in the insurance industry in France while keeping in mind to come back to Asia.
During his experiences, he realized that insurance was getting more and more complicated for the end-customer to understand the policies and conditions. With the growth of Fintech in financial services in France, he has always been convinced that insurance would be next. If we want to change the way people see insurance, we need to come back to the roots of what it is : care for each other!
This is why he decided to create UEX, a human-centric insurance that aims to go back to the roots of insurance. He wants to “Talk about health before talking about insurance”.
UEX offers health insurance as it should be: 100% personalized coverages subscribed online, easy and paperless for individuals and SMEs. As a human-centric startup, we want to make our clients understand the foundations of insurance by offering truly adaptable insurance for individuals and SMEs in Singapore.
Singapore has one of the best health system in the world. However, it is also one of the most expensive. Each year, there is an increase in the cost of the healthcare and as a consequence an increase in the premiums. The insured are no longer covered for what they truly need and the insurance companies are reducing the benefits and coverages of their customers.
At UEX, we reconcile the customers and insurance providers by enhancing customer awareness in order for them to make informed decisions and offering “à la carte” products. This is a responsible model for responsibilized customers.
Our main competitive advantage is its customer centricity. UEX offers to its customers a way to personalize their health insurance according to their needs. Using a user-friendly UX for the customer to understand the different coverages, we enable them to be capable of making reasoned decisions.
Launched two years ago, the Insurtech startup has grown in both size and reputation amongst the Singaporean insurance market. We have more than 500 customers for which we work everyday to offer the best insurance experience in compliance with their needs.

We are unique in the way we perceive, explain and sell insurance. We are a 100% online platform that allows us to offer personalized products to our customers. This also gives us the possibility for the client to have a better understanding of the products they are purchasing and of the terms and conditions of their health insurance contract.
UEX is currently opening its services to SME. The development of the SME platform, based on our user-experience with our individual customers, is in progress. About further development, we are currently working with Verspieren in order to release a platform in France. We are also targeting a future expansion in South-east Asia., with Hong-Kong and Indonesia.
